Trained volunteers and staff visit mental health funded group homes. This Program began in 1989, shortly after the Arc Michigan created this contract with the Department of Community Health to allow local advocates and parents access to group home living for adults and children with developmental disabilities. The focus of the visit is the quality of life for each resident, focusing on choice, community inclusion and living environment.
The Arc Muskegon makes approximately eighty (80) visits each year. This is a great volunteer opportunity for parents or anyone interested in advocating for the best possible living options for adults with developmental disabilities in our community.
